I grew up in Cameron Park, California, where I first discovered my passion for graphic design and the power of visual communication. I began my college journey at California State University, Sacramento, before transferring to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

My design career began in 2012 at Profile by Design in El Dorado Hills, where I worked as both Graphic Designer and Studio Manager. I led a small creative team, guided several company rebrands, and managed everything from social media campaigns to web design and marketing strategy. A year later, I shifted into the political space, joining the California State Assembly Republican Caucus as a Graphic Designer. There, I managed creative projects for 28 Assemblymembers—designing mailers, brochures, websites, social content, and event materials.

In 2016, I became Digital Media Director at Meridian Pacific, where I designed and directed award-winning political campaigns for clients across California and nationwide. After more than four years in that role, I returned to the State Assembly in 2021 while launching my own business, Elizabeth Hanretty Graphic Design—an award-winning design studio specializing in branding, political communications, direct mail, and digital media.

Since launching my firm, I’ve partnered with nationwide associations, advocacy groups, and elected officials to produce bold, high-impact design work recognized by the American Association of Political Consultants. I’m proud to have earned multiple Pollie Awards, the industry’s highest honor for political design excellence.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about fitness, travel, cooking, and photography. I’m also a big fan of bourbon, pizza, and dominating in fantasy football—Go Pack Go! I live in East Sacramento with my husband, Ryan, our daughter, Ella, and our two dogs, Milo and Maverick.
